Can't believe it's been almost a year since I've been out and shot the milkyway and although the forecast wasn't perfect I thought I'd risk a run out to southbourne beach to give it a go Luckily the sky was clear but my normal spot was full of people fishing so I set up on top of the hill looking over the beach Quite please how this one turned out after losing 2/3 of my sky exposures to lens fog after the humidity caught me out and I forgot to put the lens warmer on

Walking down the road to the beach in the middle of the night in full wedding gear, to have our photo taken under the milkyway at my favourite astro location was quite weird lol My friend and fellow astro photographer met us there to grab a few shots of us under the milkyway core before we set off on our honeymoon cruise to the Norwegian fjords

I haven't shot the Heart and Soul nebula in a couple of years so gave it a go the other night as it was clear The 78%+ moon really washed out the sky and only the brightest parts of the Ha regions came through but still nice to be lined up on a target and get some practice in

Cloudless nights on a new moon are few and far between so couldn't miss the opportunity to set up the rig Lined up on M33 as it's at a good height fairly early At the redcats 250mm focal length it's quite small but still pleased with how it turned out

I was hoping for a glimps of the northern lights whilst up in Northumberland last month as they'd been highly visable the week before Unfortunately it wasn't to be but I was happy to get out and pick up this light painted foreground image under the Northumberland night sky

Mind blown by Friday night's aurora here on the south coast of the UK Being the consummate professional I totally forgot to check my camera settings before reeling off some images I'd closed down the aperture to get shaper stars and better colour while shooting star trails in Cornwall and left my camera on 7 sec exposures also for sharp stars for a timelapse from the startrail shoot so I was lucky to pick up what I did lol
This is just a single 7 sec image, f4, iso 6400 on the Canon 6d mk2 and sigma 20mm f1 4 Art series lens
