Just 5 5 hours from Denver and 3 5 from Salt Lake City, this accessible city is a mecca for outdoor adventurers
Here’s what I recommend for staying in Moab:
🏨 Stay at @field stn (hosted): It is dog-friendly, has a full coffee shop with food, a hot tub + pool, games, and gear rentals, and is just a few miles from the entrance of Arches National Park
🧗♀️ Climb/Canoyoneer: There are guides-galore in Moab that can take you out on a full-day or multi-day adventure if you don’t have your gear

🥾 Hike: Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are close and very different but incredibly beautiful You can also hike outside of the parks!
🚲 Bike: Whether you’re a mountain, gravel, or dirt biker, there are incredible trails and paths to take with canyon overlooks
🏎️ATV: There are ATV shops right in town where you can go with a tour or rent your own for a day of ATVing on passes and desert roads just outside of town
🏞️River hang: We hung out and swam in the river with the pups, and it was so relaxing and beautiful

Can you believe we only spent $550 pp on adventures and transport in Costa Rica?!
Many parts of Costa Rica are now built around tourism, especially in the La Fortuna and Guanacaste Coast area where we stayed We rented a car thinking that it would give us more flexibility, but we learned that all of the famous tours you see, like Volcano hiking, Ziplining, Rafting, Surfing, and Boating tours, will all pick you up directly from your hotel! We could’ve easily added on 2-3 adventure and still be under $1000 but we want to have time to explore the towns, farmers market and chill on the beach too!
You can book these on sites like @getyourguide or @viator , or your hotel will most likely be able to book whatever tour you want from the front desk!
🚗 Logistically, Costa Rica is the very easy to navigate in terms of adventuring, so I wouldn’t rent a car again, mainly because the roads are slow and sketchy (steep, potholes, flooding from rain) in parts
🏖️ If you’re looking for a more authentic Costa Rican experience, you may want to visit the smaller towns that aren’t overtaken by years of over-tourism, however if you’re looking for a cost-effective trip and to add a stamp to your passport, this Costa Rican trip could be for you!
✈️ I didn’t include flight or food costs because they vary greatly depending on where you’re flying from and what type of food you eat
🥘I will say that the food was surprisingly expensive as in Vegas and airport prices in these touristy areas An Iced Americano for $8?! 😬
