Here is my longest insta caption ever i present to you my senior solo from @pacecommercialdance showcase last week It was an absolute dream to perform @sabphillip work in front of friends, family, mentors, and industry professionals
It was also one of the scariest and most vulnerable feelings I have ever had I’m not usually a nervous person before a performance but this solo has a very tight grasp on my heart For me it is the journey of reclaiming your own power and self-worth There is beauty and strength in taking back your power and ownership Beyond just a t shirt, it also represents the mask that we all wear at times to appease others and make them went to accept us
@billieeilish thank you putting into words the thoughts that many of us carry each day For your vulnerability and your transparency To whatever degree, we all experience the pain that the criticisms and opinions of others can carry This song found me at a time where I needed to hear your words and embrace them
As I close this chapter of my life and enter the “real world” I want to carry your message with me of not needing to always please others and that not everyone is going to accept you But at the end of the day eventually someone will want you and they’ll want you for being YOU, not someone you think they want you to be
