Have you been to Abu Dhabi before?
We decided to stay in Abu Dhabi for couple of days on our way to Socotra and explore this city in the short time we had
First thing we found is that hiring a car was very useful as the attractions are quite spread out It gave us lots of flexibility and freedom exploring It’s a fairly easy city to navigate apart from few issues Google maps had when we got on the 7 lane highways🫣
We hired the car online and it was very cheap, we would’ve paid much more for taxis!

Louvre Abu Dhabi you made our runaway dreams come true 😍
As soon as we decided to stop at Abu Dhabi we knew we had to visit the Louvre and find this beautiful outdoor art exhibit - you might have seen some photos before and it looks great in real life too!
So this is what you need to know about this spot:
- It’s within the sightseeing area so you have to pay to access it (the exhibitions are amazing so I his is must visit place in Abu Dhabi)
- You can find it right at the end of the main tour as you leave the first building, before you can visit any other exhibitions
- Bring a handheld tripod if you want to film — larger bags and tripods need to be left in the cloakroom
- The recording spot is a bit far, so make friends with someone to take your pictures or video (or to at least press record on your tripod 😂)

When you visit Abu Dhabi, you need to visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - we think you can see why! The place itself is stunning, with its grand buildings, wide open squares and columned walkways, it really does need to be seen in person
Access is FREE, but you do need to book an entry slot online to fill out a short form It can get very busy, so get there at the opening times or before they close (it’s open 9am-10pm but please check times as they’re different during the holy month of Ramadan)
If you have time try to visit it during the day and at night as it looks incredible after sunset

Which do you prefer?
One of the great things about the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is that you can see it by day and by night, and both are beautiful😍 it is open from 9am till 10pm so you have a lot of time to explore
All you need to do is reserve a timeslot online and make your way there, it’s all free You probably need an hour or two to see it depending how many pictures you want to take Please be advised that this is a very busy mosque so arrive early and be patient if you want to take pictures or videos without people in it
Another thing to note is that the tourist entrance is inside the underground shopping centre, not through the main prayer entry above ground! So if you’re driving and it’s not clear where tourist carpark is then remember to park as far from the mosque as the entrance is on the opposite side of the carpark
This might be obvious tip but please be respectful as this is place of worship and comply with the dress code For women - abayas are not necessary but please wear long dress or skirt and long sleeve, high neck top that covers your shoulders and arms and is not tight, revealing or see through Man should wear long trousers and shirt with sleeves
