  • 🔘Castello Aragonese🔘
•Located at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, Italy
•The castle was built by Hiero I of Syracuse in 474 BC
•In 326 BC the castle was captured by the Romans, and then again by the Parthenopeans
•In 1441 Alfonso V of Aragon connected the castle to the eastern side of the island of Ischia through a stone bridge 220 meters long and fortified the walls to defend the inhabitants against the raids of pirates
•Around 1700, about 2000 families lived on the islet
    • In 1809, the British troops laid siege to the island, then under French command, and shelled it to almost complete destruction
•In 1912, the castle was sold to a private owner
•The castle was used as Riza's 'Fortified Fortress' in the 2019 film Men in Black: International

  • 🔘Machu Picchu🔘
    •It is a 15th-century Inca citadel, located on a 2,430-metre (7,970 ft) mountain ridge , Peru
•In the Quechua language the site name could possibly mean "old mountain"
•The Incas built the estate around 1450 but abandoned it a century later at the time of the Spanish conquest
•During its use as a royal estate, it is estimated that about 750 people lived there, with most serving as support staff who lived there permanently
•Much of the farming done at Machu Picchu was done on its hundreds of man-made terraces
•The site is roughly divided into an urban sector and an agricultural sector, and into an upper town and a lower town
•The temples are in the upper town, the warehouses in the lower , with approximately 200 buildings
•However, the site remained unknown to the outside world until American historian Hiram Bingham brought it to international attention in 1911
•In 2007, Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a worldwide Internet poll

  • 🔘The Unswept Floor Mosaic🐀🔘
•The mosaic was found in 1833 during construction work in a vineyard near the Porta Ardeatina, Rome, Italy
•This splendid mosaic, made up of tiny pieces of glass and coloured marble once decorated the floor of the dining room of a villa on the Aventine Hill at the time of Emperor Hadrian who ruled from 117 to 138 CE
•The decorative theme that is known as "the unswept floor", was created in the 2nd century B C by Sosos of Pergamon and here in this villa by the artist Heraclitus, who has signed his name
🐀The artist has created a floor which seems to be covered with the debris of a banquet, the remains that would normally be swept away: one can identify fruit, lobster claws, chicken bones, shellfish and even a tiny mouse who is eating a walnut
👹The entrance has six theatrical masks with other theatrical symbols on each side
•In the middle of the room is a reference to Egypt and the Nile with crocodiles, birds, aquatic plants, and figures representing Isis and Osiris
•The unswept floor mosaic is now preserved in the Vatican Museum
